Mrs. Carlton has just bought a house and her backyard is very boring. She would like to be able to entertain in her backyard so she has hired your landscaping design firm. You and your team are asked to create a unique landscape design for her backyard on a budget of $20,000. She has asked that the following elements be included in your design:

  1. Wooden Deck
  2. 2-3 Trees
  3. 2 flower beds (one must be a butterfly garden)
  4. Stone patio

You are not limited to just incorporating only these items. Be creative! You will have 5 weeks with in which to design your landscaping plan before presenting it to Mrs. Carlton.

 

  1. Blueprint of landscape design
  2. Spreadsheets & graphs illustrating your expenditures (where the money went!)
  3. Individual journal of all activities completed by you (each memeber of the team will turn in a journal)
  4. Complete list of sources used on this project
  5. Presentation of Final Landscape Design & Cost Analysis to Mrs. Carlton

Blueprint of Landscape Design due by the end of the week

Presentation to Mrs. Carlton

*Mrs. Carlton will assess all five products listed above.

*You will receive a group grade and an individual grade for your performance within the group.

*You will assess yourself and your group members on teamwork skills.
